NScripter
Nscripter v1.4 full by Naoki Takahashi
NSCMAKE.EXE: This is the program that will compile a NSCRIPT.DAT from a 0.TXT nscripter file.
NSAARC.EXE: Generate ARC?.NSA files from directories. Compresses BMPs on the fly.
NSCR.EXE: NScripter executable. Main game engine.
BW2ACONV.EXE: Something to do with monochrome alpha masks...
Nscripter format dictionary (html) by Naoki Takahashi
This describes all the scripting commands available in Nscripter.
NSDEC by Liquid Systems
This program will convert a NSCRIPT.DAT file to a RESULT.TXT. Rename it to 0.TXT to work with it.
NSAOUT by alamone (mingw g++ source included)
This program decompresses all the files from ARC?.NSA files into arc/ directory.
SPB algorithm works now!
Dreamcast
Serial slave (nero image) by marcus
Precompiled Marcus Serial Slave. Burn using NERO and boot in Dreamcast.
Dreamrip by bero
By sending this motorola .SREC file over to the serial slave via "DC Coder's cable,"
the dreamcast will send GZIP compressed image of GD-ROM over serial cable to PC.
Recommend use TeraTerm Pro for terminal.
ADX2WAV by bero
This program convert the Dreamcast ADX collection AFS into ADX files,
and also converts the Dreamcast ADX file to WAV format.
However, default volume was set too high for Mizuiro (causing clipping),
and it didn't compile in DJGPP so here is my modified version.
SFD2MPG by bero
This converts the DC SFD format to MPEG1. SFD is almost the same as
normal MPEG1, except audio is in ADX format, not MPEG layer 2.
mizudc.lzh by Melody-Yoshi
This program converts the picture data from DC soft Mizuiro
into microsoft BMP format. This is shareware at 300 Yen
so I cannot distribute it freely.
mizu_view.pl by anegon
This PERL program (there are free PERL interpreters available everywhere)
takes the EVENTDAT.FAR file from DC soft Mizuiro and attempts to
convert it into a readable script format. The main purpose is to
convert the new Hiyori scenario into NScripter format, but it is
also useful to me for other reasons, obviously. Currently, it's missing
a lot of commands and does not show the speaker's name box (in DC version,
speaker's name appears in small box above main text box.)
AVI / MP3
RADIUM MP3 Codec
MP3 encoding at higher bitrate for Virtualdub.
EAC (exact audio copy)
IMO, the best (most precise) CD-ripper for windows.
Totally free and can interface with LAME.
You may have to mess around with ASPI settings, however.
LAME MP3 Encoder
High-quality MP3 encoding for .wav files.
Virtualdub
Powerful and free video dubbing utility. (Environment settings)
Huffyuv
Lossless and fast video compression for intermediate storage
AVISynth (docs)
Allows frame-precise edits to AVIs before loading.
Assumes "mizuop-.avi" to be Huffyuv encoded intro from nekonekosoft's page
and "mizu_3600.avi" to be Huffyuv encoded intro from DC soft mizuiro
Subtitler filter for Virtualdub
Accepts Substation Alpha scripts for subtitling.
Sonic Foundry Sound Forge
WAV editing and effects.
Editing
FRHED
Free hex editor. (Use to modify mizu.exe)
Textpad
Main text editor I use for 0.TXT

Standalone Distribution
copyit.cpp by alamone
This takes a chunk of NScripter "one.txt" and processes it,
finding all files that are linked to by the scripter. Assumptions:
- DVD version is installed to c:\progra~1\nekoneko\mizu_dvd\
- ALL resources from ARC?.NSA files have been extracted to the same directory (NOT arc)
- Output files are routed to C:\dist\
- Voiced (non-directsound, non-soundeffect) wave files are outputted to "waves.txt"
makewav.cpp by alamone
After typing: "SORT WAVES.TXT>WAVES2.TXT" from commandline,
run this program with the following assumptions:
- Same assumptions as copyit.cpp, and copyit.exe has already been executed
- Commandline LAME encoder is located at C:\EAC\LAME.EXE
After the program finishes, run the EXECUTE.BAT batch file that results.
After that finishes, all non-directsound, non-soundeffect wave files
will be replaced with MP3s encoded at 64 kbps with RIFF WAVE header attached.
Playback format (mono/stereo, 22khz/44khz) will be retained from old wave file.
