Diary - Twitter

I haven't posted for a while. I feel like if I'm going to make a blog post, I have to have some kind of substantial content, so I've been avoiding updating. So, I setup a twitter account that I might update more often since by nature it's expected to be brief. Please drop by and follow me if you feel like it.

Gaming stuff:

XBOX 360:
My XBOX 360 got the RROD. However, I fixed it using the X-Clamp screw and washer fix. I'm getting a copy of Mushihimesama Futari 1.5, but I'm not all that excited about it to be honest. I think CAVE was better in the Dodonpachi days. You know, before they started blatantly milking the whole moe angle.

PSP:
I also got a PSP GO, which goes beside my PSP-2000, and my PSP-3000. Yeah, I'm a GK (GateKeeper). To be honest, I think the PSP-2000 is the best, but I got the PSP GO because you can link a SixAxis to it, which I plan on doing for Darius Burst. Meanwhile I'm also playing Persona 3 Portable (Female Protagonist) downloaded from PSN. If you haven't played Persona 3, I recommend you actually play P3FES on the PS2 instead, since they had to cut down a lot of the 3D realtime cutscenes for the "Portable" version. They're replaced with still portraits now.

Shmups:
Have you seen the location test video for Strania, the new arcade game by G.Rev? Judging from the video, it seems to get a lot of inspiration from Radiant Silvergun, and it looks like it could be pretty fun. Here's hoping for a console port. No more Senko, please.

Eroge:
I played thru Sorairo, Tsubame scenario (the one Tomo wrote). I have to say, I think that for each game that NNS brought out after Giniro/Mizuiro, the quality kept going down, so it's a bit of a disappointment. Also, no omake part?! That's usually the best part too. The next eroge I'm probably going to play is "Mashiro-iro Symphony," mostly because of the artist, Izumi Tsubasu (who also did, e.g. Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka). Also, it's from Palette, and their games usually aren't too bad. It should be here from amazon japan anytime now.

random nico post of the day, for eroge fans:

Sorairo delayed

Not that I wasn't expecting this, but I got an e-mail from amazon.co.jp saying that my order was going to be delayed. According to the NNS official website the new release date is 8/28, or a one month delay.

AX 2009

This weekend I went to AX for about two days - I was mostly just browsing the exhibitors hall. I did drop by the mangagamers booth and got signboards from the artists there (Kayura Yuka did Otome from DC2 and the artist from Overdrive (didn't catch his name) did a sketch of Kirari) and I heard they held a mini-live on Saturday although I didn't go that day. I also hung out a bit at the Hendane booth (immediately obvious from the guy yelling Yaoooeeee all day) as I happen to be acquaintances with one of the workers there. Other than that, I picked up a copy of BlazBlue for X360 - looks like Aksys didn't bother region protectioning it so I can play it on my Japanese 360. Kind of a low key AX this year - wasn't too keen on most of the guests of honor or the events, and they cheaped out on the main events stage - supposedly the LACC jacked up the rental prices for the Kodak Theater by more than 3 times. Maybe it's just me getting jaded but I seemed to enjoy AX a lot more when it was a much smaller con.

Sorairo trial version

Apparently the new nekonekosoft trial version "Sorairo" is available for download. I usually download from Multi Inside but you could use any of the other mirrors. I thought nns was dead for a while, w/ some of the staff members on the cottonsoft project, but I guess there's a revival going on right now. Of course I was a nns fan since their earlier works, e.g. Giniro and Mizuiro... really long time ago. Comrade gp32 also spoke quite a bit with their head scenario writer, tomo-san. Unfortunately due to work both me and gp32 aren't doing much otaku-related activities, but at least I setup this blog so I can comment on things once in a while. I'm not used to movable type yet either, but I plan on eventually putting up most of the old content back up, and maybe even putting some new stuff up.
